Who Am I?

I'm a software engineer that loves to get up on his soapbox, even about non-software topics. I also have a tendency to go on tangents. Those seem like a good reasons to start a blog so I annoy the people around me a little less.

What do I write about?

I enjoy talking about:

• A pragmatic view on a variety of software topics, with my experience being mostly in web application development and system design
• Startups, after having worked in them for over 7 years now
• Leadership, which mostly revolves around how leadership actions and decisions affect engineering.
• I’m working on a productivity app. Whenever that launches, I’ll be talking about that and the journey with launching a software application/company.

Really, I just talk about whatever happens to be on my mind or interesting to me in the moment. I’m not chasing some sort of SEO or algorithm based content strategy. Hope you enjoy!
